Official Rules of Play (Official Contest Rules)

1.0 Contest Period

  1. LottoLend’s Contest (the “Contest”) begins every Friday at 12:00 MST and ends the following Friday at 11:59 (the “Contest Period”). By participating in the Contest, each Entrant (defined below) agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of the Sponsor (defined below), which shall be final and binding, without right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Contest and awarding of the prizes, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of Entries (defined below).

2.0 Eligibility

  1. The Contest is open to the following persons:
    • Individuals (living, natural persons) who are eighteen years of age or older as of the beginning of the Contest Period and who are legal residents of Canada who reside in the province of Alberta.

  1. For the purposes of this Contest, the “Entrant” is defined as:
    • The legal person identified as the entity in whose name the user profile with the Sponsor is held.

  1. Proof of residency and age may be required. Employees and directors of the Sponsor and its subsidiaries of the Contest are prohibited from entering the Contest. In order to enter the Contest or receive a prize, Entrants must fully comply with the Official Contest Rules and, by entering, Entrants represent and warrant that they agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor
  1. In order to claim the prize, the winner must be in good standing. To be “in good standing”, the winner must not be in default of any terms, conditions and/or agreements of the Sponsor. The winning Entrant must not have cancelled or closed their account with the Sponsor or otherwise ceased to be a user of the Sponsor’s platform.

3.0 Sponsor

4.0 How to Enter

  1. No purchase necessary. There are two ways to get an entry into the Contest (“Entry”).
    • Take out a loan with the Sponsor and pay it off in full. For every $10.00 borrowed the Entrant receives one (1) entry. The entries will be automatically included in the draw following the full payment of the Entrant's outstanding loan.
    • Mailing in (“Alternate Entries”). To receive an Entry without taking a loan, handwrite or handprint an essay of a minimum of 500 words (each, an “Essay”) on one of the topics listed below. Include in your Essay the author’s first name, last name, mailing address, e-mail address, month and year of birth, and telephone number. The author will be deemed to be the Entrant for the purposes of the Contest, except that if the Entrant named in the Essay is a company.
      1. Select one of the following Essay topics:
        • What would you do with $100,000?
        • How would you make the world a better place with $100,000?
        • Does money corrupt an individual or does it reveal who they were all along?
        • If you were the Prime Minster of Canada, how would you help the financial health of Canadians?
      2. Each Essay must:
        • Be an original composition of the author, written for the purpose of this Contest
        • Not have been previously published or submitted for this or any other Contest sponsored by the Sponsor;
        • Not infringe on the privacy or intellectual property rights of any third party;
        • Be in good taste and in keeping with the Sponsor’s Corporate Image
        • Be written about the identified Essay topic; and
        • Must be legible.
      3. Essays must be original, must be submitted in a separate, hand-addressed out envelope and mail to:

      4. Essays must be received by the Sponsor prior to the Contest Period. For each qualifying Essay, the Entrant will get 1 Entry into the Contest. The Alternative Entry is only eligible for one draw.
    • Limit of 1,000 Entries per Entrant per draw, regardless of method of entry. Any attempt to obtain additional Entries beyond the limits specified herein, or to obtain Entries in any way that violates the letter or spirit of these Official Contest Rules may result in disqualification and of all Entries obtained by such an Entrant being declared void.

5.0 Prizes and Odds

  • Each weekly draw will have one minimum guaranteed payout of $250 to one ticket. Additional guaranteed cash prizes will be paid out subject to Networthy's discretion and the prize pool balance for that week. 
  • For the $100,000 jackpot prize, the odds are 1 in 12,859,510 to win.

6.0 Entrant Selection, Prize Claim Conditions & Winner Verification

  • At the end of the Contest Period, numbers will be randomly selected by a random number generator for each cash prize. If the randomly drawn numbers match the Entrant’s Entry numbers, the Entrant will receive a cash prize as per Section 5.0

7.0 Selected Entrant Verification & Prize Claim Conditions

  • The winners will be notified by the Sponsor via a LottoLend text and/or email using the e-mail address and phone number provided with the entry. Failure by the winners to respond within 7 days of notification may result in disqualification. The winners may be required to complete and return a three-part multiple-choice skill-testing math question, an Affidavit of Eligibility, provide identification, Release of Liability and Publicity Release by the date specified by the Sponsor, or an alternate winner may be selected. In the event:
    • the winner cannot be reached for whatever reason after a reasonable effort has been exerted or the notification or Affidavit is returned as undeliverable;
    • the winner declines or cannot accept, receive or use the prize for any reason;
    • of noncompliance with the above or within any of the aforesaid time periods;
      the winner is found to be ineligible to enter the Contest or receive the prize;
    • the winner cannot or does not comply with the Official Contest Rules; or
    • the winner fails to fulfill the affidavit-related obligations mentioned above, the winner shall be disqualified. The Sponsor reserves the right to modify the notification and affidavit procedures in connection with the selection of an alternate winner, if any.

8.0 Right to Void / Terminate / Suspend / Modify

  • The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation if, in the Sponsor's sole discretion, any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Contest Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if the Contest, or any part thereof, is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, programming errors, or technical failures, which, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion void any suspect Entries and:
    • terminate the Contest, or any portion thereof;
    • modify or suspend the Contest, or any portion thereof, to address the impairment and then resume the Contest, or relevant portion, in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and/or
    • award the prizes from among the eligible, non-suspect Entries received up to the time of the impairment in accordance with the winner selection criteria discussed above.
  • The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the Contest or any website associated with the Contest, violates the Official Contest Rules, or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, or otherwise behaves in an unsportsmanlike manner.

9.0 Limitation of Liability; Releases; Jurisdiction

  • BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT THE SPONSOR, ITS EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS, HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM THE CONTEST, INCLUDING THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE OR ANY GOODS FOR WHICH IT MAY BE REDEEMED, FOR ANY DISPUTES BETWEEN JOINT ACCOUNT HOLDERS OR BETWEEN INDIVIDUALS WITH SIGNING AUTHORITY ON THE SAME ACCOUNT, OR FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING ACCESS TO, USE OF OR MALFUNCTION OF ANY WEBSITE OR COMPUTER SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTEST.
  • ALL POTENTIAL WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY THE SPONSOR. THE SPONSOR’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION, SELECTION OF THE WINNER AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED TO THE CONTEST. AN ENTRANT IS NOT A WINNER OF ANY PRIZE, EVEN IF THE APP SHOULD SO INDICATE, UNLESS AND UNTIL ENTRANT’S ELIGIBILITY AND THE POTENTIAL WINNING SELECTIONS HAVE BEEN VERIFIED AND ENTRANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT VERIFICATION IS COMPLETE. SPONSOR WILL NOT ACCEPT SCREENSHOTS OR OTHER EVIDENCE OF WINNING IN LIEU OF ITS VALIDATION PROCESS. ANY POTENTIAL WINNER NOTIFICATION THAT OCCURS AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED FOR ANY REASON IS DEEMED DEFECTIVE, IS VOID, AND WILL NOT BE HONORED.
  • Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor shall not be responsible for:
    • any incomplete or inaccurate information that is caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Entries in the Contest;
    • lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, service provider, on-line systems, telephone networks or telephone lines, or any other connections;
    • the theft, destruction, loss or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries;
    • any problems with, or malfunctions or failures of, computers or computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs;
    • garbled transmissions or miscommunications;
    • printing, distribution, programming or production errors, and any other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic or otherwise; or
    • technical, pictorial, typographical or editorial errors or omissions contained herein.
  • All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Official Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the Entrant and the Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Alberta. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the  Contest, prize  or  these Official  Contest  Rules  will  be resolved  individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court of the Province of Alberta.

10.0 Protection of Personal Information and Publicity Release

  • The Sponsor and its authorized agents will collect, use, and disclose the personal information you provide when you enter the Contest for the purposes of administering the Contest and prize fulfillment. For further information about the Sponsor's privacy practices, please see the Sponsor's Privacy Policy at www.lottolend.ca.
  • Except where prohibited or restricted by law, the winner’s acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s agreement to the Sponsor's use of his/her name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity the Sponsor and its respective successors, assigns and licensees may conduct relating to the Contest including, but not limited to, advertising, trade and/or promotion on behalf of Sponsor, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, print, TV, radio, electronic, cable, or World Wide Web, without further limitation, restriction, compensation, notice, review, or approval at any time or times in perpetuity, and hereby releases the Sponsor from any liability with respect thereto.

11.0 general Conditions

  • All Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned and no correspondence will be made with or entered into except with selected Entrant(s). Receipt of Entries will not be confirmed or acknowledged. Winning a prize is contingent on fulfilling all the requirements set forth herein. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any entries or prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. All entries and prize claims are subject to verification. Proof of entry submission does not constitute proof of receipt. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited or otherwise not permitted by law. Sponsor is not responsible for taxes, fees, or any other expenses (if any) resulting from the prize claim or award of any potential winner or winner. Sponsor reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. The Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Contest Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Contest Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Official Contest Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Official Contest Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate or necessary to comply with applicable law. Should a winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner may be required to promptly return to the Sponsor his/her prize. 
  • WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12.0 general Rules

  • Unclaimed Prizes will be forfeited after 10 days and will not be awarded. Sponsor is not responsible for any change of e-mail address, mailing address and/or telephone number by entrants. All Contest-related Information becomes the property of Sponsor and, as applicable, no Contest-related Information will be returned. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost Contest related Information or for any failure of the App or Website during the Contest, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e- mail or other information to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, on the App, Website (or at any other website), or any combination thereof. Sponsor is not responsible if an entrant is unable to access the App or Website on their mobile device, computer or other device. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any individual (and all of his or her Prize claims, and entries) who tampers with the registration process or the Website. Sponsor reserves the right to modify or suspend the Contest should a virus, “bug”, tampering, unauthorized intervention, health risks or governmental restrictions (such as those that may be implemented to mitigate COVID-19 transmission), fraud or failure of any kind whatsoever, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, in any way without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever. Without limiting the generality of the forgoing, the Sponsor reserves the right at any time, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate or additional test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances, to address discrimination or disability issues and/or to comply with applicable law. Grand Prize or Standard Prize notification messages obtained through unauthorized sources  or  which  are  incomplete,  mutilated,  altered, reproduced, forged, counterfeited or irregular in any way, are automatically void. No digital Grand Prize or Standard Prize notification message copies, duplicates or reproductions of any type will be eligible for the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any lost Grand Prize or Standard Prize notification messages. Grand Prize and Standard Prize notification messages and all other contest-related materials are the property and intellectual property of Sponsor, and may not be used for any other promotional, commercial or other purposes without the prior written authorization of Sponsor. Entrants who choose to participate via a compatible mobile device are solely responsible for standard data use and service rates that apply, which vary according to the applicable mobile device package and mobile service provider (please contact your mobile service provider for details before participating in this Contest using a compatible mobile device). Any attempt to deliberately damage the App, Website or any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. In the event of a dispute between entrants as to who was awarded a Prize, such Prize shall be deemed revealed by the “authorized account holder” of the Account associated with the Prize at the time it was revealed. In the event of a dispute between entrants as to who is the holder of an Account, such Account shall be deemed to be held by the “authorized account holder” of the e-mail address submitted at the time of registration. “Authorized e-mail account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom an e-mail address is assigned by an Internet access provider, on- line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. An entrant may be required to provide proof (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor) that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted with the Account in question. By participating in this Contest, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law each entrant (and, if a Minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) agrees (and agrees to confirm in writing) and hereby: (i) releases the Released Parties from any and all liability, loss or damage that he/she may incur in connection with his/her participation in this Contest and, if applicable, with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of a Prize and notifications in respect of Prizes (including without limitation Erroneous Notifications); (ii) agrees that, without limiting the generality of the foregoing and for greater certainty, under no circumstances will he/she be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages; (iii) agrees that all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (iv) agrees that any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs. In no event will the Sponsor be liable for more than the stated amount of Prizes in these Rules. If due to printing production, online, internet, computer or other error of any kind a Prize notification misstates the applicable Prize that an entrant is eligible to win (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion on the basis of its official records) (an “Erroneous Notification”), despite the Erroneous Notification the applicable entrant will only be eligible to receive the applicable Prize that an entrant is eligible to win. Personal information will only be collected, used and disclosed by Sponsor, and their respective designated representatives for the purposes of administering the Contest in accordance with these Rules. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to Sponsor, the Administration and their designated representatives collecting, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted during registration for such purposes and in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (available at insert link). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing and for greater certainty, by entering the Contest, each entrant consents to being contacted (including by e-mail) by Sponsor for Contest- related purposes, which includes but is not limited to Prize eligibility notifications and prize claim reminder notifications. By participating in this Contest, confirmed winners are deemed to have consented to the disclosure of their personal information to Prize suppliers for the limited purpose of delivery of Prizes, and, if applicable, registration for warranty purposes. Should it be discovered that an entrant is using the aid of computer software programs to auto-fill information, that entrant will be immediately disqualified from the Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify all such entrants from future contests conducted by the Sponsor without further notice.
